If You Can Go Back In Time, Where Do You Want To Go?

If you were given the chance to go back in time in a time machine, what particular period in history would you want to go back to? Please explain your answer.

This movie, "Somewhere in Time" is my favorite movie of all time, and it is the first video I ever bought. I also bought the soundtrack to it back when they were 12 inch black vinyl records, and even learned to play the flute just so I could learn to play the theme song. I have love Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves ever since. It was so very sad when Christopher's attentive wife died just shortly after he did from lung cancer, but she never smoked in her life. It was from second hand smoke. Anyway that's not answering your question.
I really love all the conveniences and freedoms that we have today, especially the internet, and I love the fact that women are so much more equal and influential and have more rights, but there are 3 times I would love to live in if I could.
1) The Southern Belle days of late 1800s in Southern USA, 2) the Victorian days of mid 1800s in the Eastern part of USA, and right after the depression (1940s) in the USA. Such a time of celebration and optimism and I love the style of clothes, the morals, THE COURTESY AND MANNERS, the values, the innocence. I would not do well in those restrictive societies though, where everyone must be all alike and act and think all alike, where women had to be seen and not heard, and had no rights. I really love that we can all be ourselves now, and not be shunned and shut out from society. To be "different" before the 1950s and before was to be "abnormal".
This a great time to be alive. As the scriptures say, "They will be great and dreadful times. Prophets will wish to be alive to see the prophecies come to pass."
I hope to be here for the second coming. How many people have wished to see the second coming from THIS side rather from the other side (behind the Lord as he comes with all who have loved Him.)
Blessings,
Sheila

The time of Jesus. I would get into the crowd and touch the hem of his garment and get healed.

Hi Shiela,
You really have a picturesque command of words that can weave a magic spell on the keyboard. Yes, women now have more rights than what their counterparts have before. But the olden days are more pristine and peaceful. Nature has interwoven with the lives of people. People were more God fearing during the olden times unlike now when many have become atheists or agnostics and would rather pursue the path of pleasure and sensuality than follow the precepts of our Lord. The period you mentioned are indeed wonderful times. I hope you are feeling better now and that your mother is also getting well. You are all still in my prayers. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Amrita,
I do not know what sickness you have but I will pray for your healing and deliverance. By the stripes of Jesus you are healed. Your faith has healed you, go in peace and be freed from your suffering. This I pray heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen. God bless you always my friend.

i won't go too far in time. maybe i'd go back to 1998 when i first met my husband. from then on i would be doing so many things differently - from the decisions i made to the attitudes i showed.

Hi sis Pia,
You seem to have realized your past mistakes and that is good. But everything that happened to your life is for God's purpose. You only have to subvert your own will to His own and you will live a vastly improved life. Never rue the things that happened in the past. You can not do anything about them anymore. Just look towards the future and live your life in God's own purpose. Thanks for your visit and honest viewpoint. God bless you always.

During my carefree, youthful days of the 80's when I was a teenager. The time when we were innocently happy, relaxed and idealistic at a time where no cellphones and no internet are available. Life is better even without the internet and cellphones.

Hi Bingkee,
You are nostalgic about your past but life is what we make of it. Your years as a teenager could have given you the pure joy of really living without the hassles of the present. But we go along with life trusting God that all things are good for those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose. Thanks for your visit and interesting comments. God bless you always.

Hi Mel, the last time I watched this movie was in 1988 or 1989? It is one of my favorite movie of all time I finished that movie with a heavy heart.
I never dream that I would visit the place and the hotel that they filmed the movie. I was so excited to roam around the Grand Hotel and the island.
Back to the question I would like to be back to the middle age era, but I would be he queen or the princess hahaha.
