when i read/watch these people such as pedophiles, rapists and the likes in the news, the thought i would usually have is - burn in hell! but just like any sinner (us included), they are obviously deceived by the enemy. their minds and hearts are corroded by garbage.
they have to be punished for their acts, pitied for being chained and blinded in sin but also should be prayed for their freedom from satan's grip.
i don't intend to sound so "churchy" but God taught me to look beyond a person or a situation.
well, those are just my thoughts...

Yes, they are still people with hopes for reformation but their acts are really reprehensible. Many Filipino girls and boys are victims of these sex fiends. They even have sex tours catering exclusively for pedophiles. May God have pity on their souls. Thanks for your visit and valuable viewpoint. God bless you always.

I cannot judge people of their sin but I think they need to be burned. Pardon my explicit answer. But God forgives those who ask for mercy. Just like Pia said, their minds were corrupt and lusts uncontrollable. But you know in a world we're living, there's always a punishment to be exacted if you are found to be guilty of such sin.

Man is still capable of reforms as long as he is alive. He must just be brought to the knowledge of God's amazing grace, that he can still change and be saved if only He will accept Jesus Christ as His Lord and savior. Nothing is impossible with God. This is a tough one for me. I was abused as a child, so my opinions are highly biased. Taking that into account, I have also studied Criminology and understand a great deal of the issues surrounding pedophilia.
This is a disease of the mind - a mental disorder, one might say. There have been many attempts to find a way to cure or rehabilitate the pedophile, but to date there has been no proven results. The only way to be sure that a known pedophile will not repeat his offenses against more innocent victims is to keep him locked up.
It's sad in some ways because many abusers were once also abused themselves. My brother was abused by our stepfather and he went on to become an abuser. He is now in prison for the rest of his life. He'll never see the outside world again - a much deserved punishment for him.
Matt. 18: 6- But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Another question I have about this subject...is there forgiveness? Also is there forgiveness for murder? My understandingn of repentence means that you must make things right for the damage you caused, and in these cases, you can't make things the way they were before.
