Mel , I live in a country where the genitals of a Hindu god is worshipped - you can imagine the condition of women.

With education, modernization and awareness women are being empowered but slowly. .

Women are victims of child marriage, honor killing, widow abuse, female child murders and abandoning, violence among other things.

At the same time goddesses are worshipped.

Hi Amrita,
Yes, I agree with you. Women in your country and in some parts of my country are truly discriminated upon. I've read that somewhere in your distant past, widows were burned together with their dead husband in a funeral fire ceremony called suttee. And there were cases of people strangled to death in honor of the goddess Kali. In some parts of Africa, women are mutilated in female circumcision. The women must assert their right to genuine equality. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Rose,
Yes, in America as a whole, women are very vocal and assertive about their rights. No so with very poor and uneducated countries where they are treated as mere vassals by their men. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Dhemz,
Yes, you are right. Men and women in America are equal. This is not true in some backward countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

I don't believe that full equality is for both women and men. Since sexes are opposite and different and certain genetic codes are already programmed in each sex by our Creator, each gender is designed to do a job or task which cannot be fulfilled by the other gender (sex). That's why I think feminists will get angry at my views. I don't believe in women assuming all equality rights as men do. Women have roles to play in the society and in the universe they live because that is what they were "designed" for.
But I know and I'm aware that women are persecuted, discriminated and debased just because of their sex in other parts of the world and this is not acceptable ---not in the eyes of God nor mankind.
