What Name Do You Call When You Pray?

What name do you call when you pray?

Hi Mel;
First of all, thank your readers for their prayers. Mom and I have been in the hospital 3 times in 2 weeks, and the last time we were there together and admitted together. I asked to be released almost immediately upon warning of my Dr. about the new and dangerous hospital policy Canada has adopted. Its like a bad science fiction movie, so I spent my time protecting her. I get no such support or protection for myself, but that's ok, the Lord keeps restarting my heart when it stops. So 2 days I could not even move to get to the hospital, I shockingly found out my negligent church sent about 4 visitors to sit with Mom for me. I brought her home today just as sick as when she went in, so I don't understand that at all, and praying for answers of how I can help her rather than take her back into the dangerous hospital system. I'm so exhausted and so much in pain, on oxygen, unable to get either of us anything to eat or drink. Tomorrow I will call around about home care nurse.

As for your question, I say "Dear Heavenly Father", sort of like the Lord's prayer of "Our Father who art in Heaven", then I close my prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus only talked about giving the praise and praying to the Father, always. He wanted no glory for Himself, unlike lucifer who DID want all the glory for Himself and was cast out of heaven for it, before the world was formed and there was a war in heaven where Father asked Jesus and Lucifer what would be their method to save the people. Occasionally Sometimes I say Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Hi Shiela,
I am sorry to hear about you and your mother's harrowing experiences at the hospital. Truly, both of you were saved and cared for by the grace of God through the ministries of angels. Some religions call on so many names that is why I ask that question. In my country, our people call on so many names when praying even names of their departed loved ones. Prayers should be addressed to the Father, in the name of Jesus and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Thanks for your visit and comments. I will continue to pray for you and the others who need our prayers. God bless you always.

Wow, that's such a surprise to me. I never heard of these things, except that in the Catholic church I know they pray to Saints or Jesus's Mother, Mary. Why pray to them when you can go directly to your Heavenly Father? Oh well, I hope someday they will learn the truth.

Hi Shiela,
Christian teachings say that we must pray only to God. Any other prayer addressed to anybody except God is pure and simple idolatry. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

The name of Jesus - name above all neas

I don’t necessarily agree however I can understand where you are coming from with that. At least it was well thought out.

Hi Amrita,
Yes, you are right. We can either call on the name of the Lord or of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son when praying. That is the Biblical way. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that we can call on any other name than the name of God. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rose,
Yes, that is the Biblical way. You don't have to apologize my friend. I understand. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi LSBF Consultant,
The rationale of this question is the Biblical precept that we can only pray to God. To pray to any other creature would be sheer idolatry. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless.
