In Moments Of Strong Temptation, Do You Normally Yield To It Or Resist It?

In moments of strong temptation, do you normally yield to it or resist it?

Depends what the temptation is. If it's a sin, I am good at resisting. I can't handle living with guilt, so that is my deterrent. If it's the temptation to lay down when in serious pain, I give in. I used to give in to temptation of ice cream or chocolate, but don't do that much anymore either due to diabetes.

During the first year of our marriage Kuya, some people really predicted that we won't going to last due to our distance/separation. I am so thankful to God that He did not let us go through this complicated word T.

Hi Shiela,
It's great that you resist temptations to sin. I think all Christians have that built in strength in them to resist temptations. With regards to temptations to indulge in our cravings for food, wine, entertainment, etc., that is probably where people will have a different degree of reaction either resisting or indulging. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rose,
Yes, you are really blessed by the Lord because of your patience and persistence in life. Now you have a lovely family. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

I sometimes yield to temptation.Because it makes me curious when someone told me not to do it, I wanted to see what will happen if I do that particular thing they asked me not to do. And also it depends on the temptation.

Hi Yen,
I really appreciate your honesty. Temptations come in all forms. What we should be wary of is temptation that beguiles us and which our own conscience forbid us to do. As they say, curiosity kills the cat. Remember what happened to Eve when she succumbed to the temptation of the devil? Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

pagdating naman sa relationship...d ako nagpapadala sa mga temptations before...d nga ako nagka bf not until I met my husband...ehehehe! papasalamat ako sa family ko for always reminding me the right path...if I did not listen to them...baka naging katulad ako nang iba na naligaw ang landas...papasalamat din ako kay Lord for guiding me all the time.

Depends on the temptations and my moods. If it is temptation on foods, more often than not, I give in.

God bless you always, Sir Mel.

Hi Dhemz,
Yes, there are all kinds of temptations. Yielding to some of them like foods, clothing and other cravings are not necessarily evil. But yielding to the temptations of the flesh is indeed sinful. Great that you were preserved for your husband by your caring parents. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Rossel,
Yes, we always give in to temptations on food but temptations of the flesh is another thing and we should not touch that with a ten foot pole, lol. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

It depends KuyaM. If the temmptation is light, I tend to accept it before I realized that it was wrong. But if the temptation is heavy, I can easily detect it and I lure myself away from it.

Hi MelCole,
Yes, it is always better that way. Better to be safe on the side of God than sorry. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

I am made of clay mel. I have to fight the Devil and my self. Taking up my cross is not easy at times.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Amrita,
Although you are made of clay, it is the Lord who is molding you to the person He wants you to be. Just trust Him at all times. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Thank you Mel. As Paul says in Romans 7 -nothing good dwells in me - but thanks be to God who rescues us.

Hi Amrita,
That was before we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. Now we are new creations in Christ being transformed from glory to glory by the inexorable works of the Holy Spirit to serve as light of the world and salt of the earth. Thanks again for your visit and comments. God bless you always my sister in Christ.
