My Dad was/is a gentle, funny, optimistic, spiritual man who was the sunshine when he walked into a room. His daily talk of spirital matters bred me into someone who can't separate my spiritual life from my every-day life, as most of the world seems to do. Good question Mel!
Bless you in all ways.

my dad is quiet but we wouldn't like to see him mad. he's a good provider but he's also a proud man. something i'm praying to God about. as a kid, i remember him not allowing us to watch filipino movies and shows, only english and american films are allowed in the house. he loves american music. he loves to eat. he loves to travel. he loves to walk and walk. my dad is a good man but He needs Jesus in his life.

i guess my being tough is something i got from him, of course that toughness was way too raw that God had to fine tune me a whole lot to get me to what i am now.

Hi Shiela.
I believe your father is already dead. I'm sure he had plenty of values and moral fortitude that he was able to transplant in you. You are what you are today because of the influences of your parents. The genetic traits will always be there and you have improved those traits dramatically for transmission to your offsprings. You have live a truly fruitful life even with your conditions now. You have made quite an influence in the blog world very much like what Helen Keller did to the whole reading public. Thanks for your visit and inspiring comments my dear friend. God bless you always.

Hi sis Pia,
Your dad really made lasting impressions in your life. He will always be a hero and tough guy to the little girl that was you before. I will help you pray that God touch his heart so that he will surrender his life to Jesus. That's one of the additional prayer request for you. We are all work in progress by the Lord and in His own perfect time we will be the very persons God wants us to be. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Oh Mel, you over-estimate me so much. I am so humbled I could cry. You are such a kind, generous soul.
Bless you and your dear family always,
Sheila

thank you, bro. i remember him always getting mad at me for being a Christian. but now when he talks to his friends and relatives, he'd always say that among all his children, i am the closest to God.

Hi Shiela,
Only God knows if I am over estimating you but I could appreciate what your plight is doing in showing the glory of God through your constant struggles. I don't want to compare but I have another very close friend who is suffering from the same malady such as yours but her reactions are far too different from yours. She is so focused on her own suffering that she could not even acknowledge what her friends and readers are doing for her. So many times I featured her and her plight in my blog and I got not even an acknowledgment from her. Not that I needed that. But how can you help a person who seemed so engrossed on her own world alone. I am just praying for her in my own silent way. You are different my friend. Your struggles and suffering and your very positive attitude towards them are so marvelously inspiring I could not help but cry every time I would read your post. I realize that God is using you mightily to glorify His name in your life. If I will choose the most dramatic and soul inspiring blogger in the whole of blogdom, I will surely choose you hands down. I sure hope I can help you more aside from the prayers I am offering for you. Only God knows the end to all these episodes in your life. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi sis Pia,
That is a very positive development. At least he is acknowledging that among all your siblings, you are the one closest to God. Maybe that could be a hint that he is already prepared to accept Jesus as his Lord and savior. Never get tired praying for his eventual conversion. I will help you in your prayers along that line plus your other prayer requests most especially your heart's desire. Be persistent with your prayers and in God's perfect time you will receive His gracious answers to all your prayers. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Papa was a great provider until he was hooked up with his drinking problem. I never realized how good he was to us until he was gone. Now I wish that he could still hear me say how much I am proud of him. One thing that he taught me though is to pursue your dreams no matter what. He might have given up on helping me but I know that he was very proud of what he imparted on us.

My father is a good man and great provider. Kahit hindi kami close na father ko I love him so much. My father and two of my younger sisters are best friend sila kasi during our time sobrang bust ang father ko sa work, so nung dumating yougest sister ko wala na siya work thats why they became best friend. anyway, I father is the one who ttaught me about household chores, like plantsa and cooking. thanks for sharing this Sir Mel.

Btw, salamat sa comments mo. natumpok mo talaga ang pagka possessive ng asawa ko, buti nlng nag change na niya iba niyang negative attitude. Hindi na masydong seloso, possessive at insecure when we had our first kid. I really keep on praying and lifted it to the lord that he will trust me all the way and stop the possessiveness for good. May away pa rin pero na sosolved rin. thanks sa comments mo i love it. Alam na alam mo talaga ang mga characters and how to deal it.

Hi Amrita,
Wow, your father must have been so exemplary that you can describe him that way. A father becomes a hero in the eyes of his daughter who grew up immersed in the wonderful values and discipline of a loving father. You are what you are now because of the lasting values your father has instilled in your system. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rsose,
Surely your father is great no matter what his failings maybe. Nobody is perfect but your father sure knew how to impart all the valuable lessons and values in your life. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Shydub,
I'm sure he had some traumatic experiences in the past that cause his insecurities. I will help you in praying for your husband na mag trust siya muna sa Diyos and sa ibang tao. Maaaring nakaranas siya ng betrayal before kaya ganyan ang attitude niya. Thanks for your visit and meaningful comments. God bless you always.
